Bridgepoint Group

Bridgepoint Group was founded in 1984 as NatWest Equity Partners, the private equity arm of NatWest. The firm achieved independence through a management buyout in May 2000, subsequently rebranding as Bridgepoint Capital. Since becoming independent, the firm has raised numerous flagship funds, including the Europe VII fund and the Development Capital IV fund, focusing on mid-market investments across the continent.

The firm operates across private equity and credit strategies, significantly expanding its reach through the acquisition of Energy Capital Partners in 2023 and the restructuring firm Interpath in 2026. In July 2021, Bridgepoint became a public company, listing on the London Stock Exchange.

Bridgepoint focuses on acquiring and developing middle-market companies. Its investment activity spans various sectors including consumer, healthcare, and technology, with a historical emphasis on European buyouts and growth capital. Notable recent activity includes a 6 billion Euro first close for its Europe VIII fund in 2026 and the strategic acquisition of infrastructure-focused firms to diversify its investment platform.
