Bridgepoint Group was originally established in 1984 as NatWest Equity Partners, the private equity arm of NatWest bank. The firm achieved independence in May 2000 through a management buyout and was renamed Bridgepoint Capital. Since becoming an independent entity, the firm has raised numerous flagship funds, including the Europe VI fund and various development capital funds, consistently expanding its capital commitments.
