Eurazeo

Eurazeo was formed in 2001 through the merger of two long-standing investment entities: Eurafrance (founded in 1969) and Azeo (originally Gaz et Eaux, founded in 1881). Between 2001 and 2005, the firm established its modern structure through a series of major mergers and the strategic divestment of historical holdings in companies like Generali and Lazard. This period transitioned the firm into a focused investment powerhouse that began aggressive acquisitions in the services and industrial sectors.

The firm expanded its reach significantly through the 2010s by diversifying its investment divisions and geographic footprint. Notable milestones include the creation of the Eurazeo PME division and the 2017 acquisition of a 70% interest in Idinvest Partners, which effectively doubled its assets under management. During this time, Eurazeo also expanded into the U.S. and UK markets, evidenced by its investment in the Rhône Group and the acquisition of New York-based consumer brands.

Today, Eurazeo manages a wide-ranging portfolio that includes third-party capital and investments in over 600 companies. The firm operates across several specialized divisions, covering everything from venture capital and small-to-medium enterprises to large-scale buyouts. Its strategy emphasizes a consumer sector focus and international expansion beyond its European roots.
