Bridgepoint

Bridgepoint was originally founded in 1984 as NatWest Equity Partners, a private equity arm of NatWest. The firm became independent in May 2000 following a management buyout and was renamed Bridgepoint Capital. Since its independence, the firm has raised numerous flagship funds, including the Bridgepoint Europe series, and expanded its platform through strategic acquisitions such as Energy Capital Partners and the restructuring firm Interpath.

The firm focuses on private equity and credit investments, particularly within the European middle market. Bridgepoint reached a significant milestone in July 2021 when it listed on the London Stock Exchange, becoming a constituent of the FTSE 250 Index. The company has a history of investing in diverse sectors ranging from consumer brands and healthcare to clean energy technology and financial services.

In recent years, Bridgepoint has significantly diversified its investment capabilities. In 2023, it moved into infrastructure and renewables by acquiring Energy Capital Partners for 835 million pounds. The firm continues to show strong fundraising momentum, securing over 6 billion euros for its eighth European fund as of early 2026, demonstrating its scale as a major player in the global private investment landscape.
