Bridgepoint

Bridgepoint was originally founded in 1984 as NatWest Equity Partners, the private equity arm of NatWest. The firm became independent in May 2000 following a management buyout and was renamed Bridgepoint Capital. Since its independence, the firm has raised numerous flagship funds, including the Europe V fund which brought total committed capital to over 20 billion Euros by 2015.

In July 2021, Bridgepoint Group was listed on the London Stock Exchange. The firm has actively expanded its platform through strategic acquisitions, including the purchase of Energy Capital Partners in 2023 to bolster its infrastructure and renewables capabilities, and the acquisition of restructuring firm Interpath in 2026.

The firm focuses on middle-market investments across various sectors, ranging from consumer brands to healthcare and technology. It operates through several divisions, including Bridgepoint Development Capital, which targets lower mid-market opportunities. Through its history, the firm has demonstrated a consistent ability to raise multi-billion Euro funds from global institutional investors for European and international buyouts.
