Founded in 1966 through the merger of E.M. Warburg & Co. and Lionel I. Pincus & Co., Warburg Pincus is one of the world's oldest and most established private equity firms. Under the early leadership of Lionel Pincus and John Vogelstein, the firm pioneered a strategy of investing in diversified companies of various sizes and stages rather than focusing exclusively on startups.
