Bridgepoint Capital

Bridgepoint was founded in 1984 as NatWest Equity Partners, the private equity arm of NatWest. The firm became independent in May 2000 following a management buyout and was renamed Bridgepoint Capital. Since its independence, it has raised numerous funds, including its Europe series and Development Capital funds, focusing on middle-market buyouts and growth investments. In July 2021, the firm transitioned to a public company, listing on the London Stock Exchange and becoming a constituent of the FTSE 250 Index.

The firm has significantly expanded its investment scope through strategic acquisitions, such as the purchase of Energy Capital Partners in 2023 to increase its footprint in infrastructure and renewable energy. It also expanded its restructuring capabilities by acquiring Interpath in 2026. Bridgepoint typically targets sectors such as consumer, healthcare, and technology, managing billions in assets for global institutional investors. In 2026, the firm demonstrated continued growth by securing over 6 billion Euros at the first close of its Europe VIII fund.
