Bridgepoint Capital

Bridgepoint was originally founded in 1984 as NatWest Equity Partners, the private equity arm of NatWest. It became an independent firm in May 2000 following a management buyout and was subsequently renamed Bridgepoint Capital. Since then, the firm has expanded its capital base significantly through several flagship European buyout funds, reaching a milestone with the listing of Bridgepoint Group plc on the London Stock Exchange in July 2021.\n\nThe firm focuses on middle-market investments across variety of sectors, including consumer, healthcare, and technology. It has developed a strong track record in European buyouts and development capital. Recent strategic moves include the expansion into infrastructure and renewable energy through the acquisition of Energy Capital Partners in 2023, as well as the acquisition of restructuring firm Interpath in 2026. The firm continues to raise substantial capital, recently securing over €6 billion for its Europe VIII fund.
