Investcorp

Founded in 1982 by Nemir Kirdar and a group of partners, Investcorp established itself early on with high-profile luxury acquisitions, most notably Tiffany & Co. in 1984 and Gucci in the late 1980s. Headquartered in Bahrain, the firm was originally regulated as a wholesale bank and listed on the Bahrain Bourse before delisting in 2021 to transition into a private global alternative asset manager.

Today, the firm operates through several distinct verticals including Private Equity, Real Assets, and Credit Management. It has significantly diversified its geographic footprint, expanding from its roots in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) to establish a major presence in North America, Europe, and increasingly, Asia, with dedicated funds for the Indian and Chinese markets.

In recent years, under the leadership of Executive Chairman Mohammed Alardhi, Investcorp has shifted toward a model focused on raising institutional capital and expanding into infrastructure and insurance asset management. The firm is recognized as one of the largest cross-border buyers of U.S. real estate and continues to aggressively pursue mid-market buyouts and technology investments globally.
