Lloyds Development Capital (LDC) is a London-based mid-market private equity house and a subsidiary of Lloyds Banking Group.

Lloyds Development Capital (LDC) was established in 1981 as the private equity arm of Lloyds Banking Group. Between 1999 and 2011, the firm operated under the name Lloyds TSB Development Capital Limited. It functions as a mid-market private equity house, managing various UK-based subsidiaries focused on venture capital fund management and investment activities.

The firm has shown significant growth over its history, exceeding 30 million pounds in annual investment for the first time in 1991. By 2007, its annual investment activity had grown to over 300 million pounds, and the firm completed its 400th investment around that same period. While it previously maintained an international presence through a subsidiary in Hong Kong, that office was liquidated in 2015, and the firm now primarily serves the United Kingdom.

LDC operates through several specialized entities including LDC (Managers) Limited and LDC (General Partner) Limited. In addition to its core investment activities, the firm has been involved in supporting UK business initiatives, such as the Evening Standard Business Awards and its SME-focused categories.
