Hg is a British private equity firm that targets technology and services buyouts with a primary focus on Europe and the United States.

Hg began as Mercury Private Equity, the private equity division of Mercury Asset Management. After Mercury Asset Management was acquired by Merrill Lynch in 1997, the executives negotiated their independence in 2000 to establish HgCapital as a fully independent partnership owned by its partners and employees. The firm has since grown into one of the world's largest private equity firms, specializing in software and technology-enabled services.

The firm manages several fund families including Mercury for smaller technology buyouts, Genesis for mid-market deals, and Saturn for large-cap investments. In recent years, Hg has expanded its operations with offices in London, Munich, San Francisco, New York, and Singapore. In 2023, the firm launched a dedicated wealth unit to serve individual clients, wealth advisers, and family offices, further diversifying its investor base beyond traditional institutional clients.
