Investcorp-backed KSS picks up Strack Scale Service

Kanawha Scales & Systems, which is backed by Investcorp, has acquired Strack Scale Service.

Investcorp-backed Kanawha Scales & Systems (KSS) has completed the acquisition of Strack Scale Service. Strack Scale Service is a Cincinnati-based company specializing in scale calibration and service. This strategic acquisition expands KSS's operational footprint and service offerings within the industrial weighing sector.

Investcorp, a global alternative investment manager, supports KSS in its growth initiatives. KSS, founded in 1954, operates as a provider of weighing equipment and services.

Following the acquisition, Strack Scale Service will maintain its existing brand identity. Christopher Geers Jr., the current President of Strack Scale Service, will continue in an executive leadership role within the business. This ensures continuity in operations and management for the acquired entity.

This transaction reflects a broader trend of consolidation within specialized industrial service sectors, as companies seek to expand their market share and service capabilities through strategic acquisitions. For the industrial services sector, this indicates a continued focus on acquiring regional players to enhance geographic reach and specialized expertise, particularly in niche markets such as calibration and weighing systems. Such moves aim to create more comprehensive service providers capable of addressing diverse client needs across broader territories.
