GP Investimentos

Founded in 1993, GP Investments was established to focus on the then-nascent private equity market in Latin America. The firm raised its first fund of $500 million in 1994 and has since expanded its reach across multiple asset classes. In 2003, current leadership under Antonio Bonchristiano and Fersen Lambranho took over, eventually acquiring full control of the firm in 2004.

In 2006, GP Investments became the first listed private equity company in Latin America after completing a $308 million initial public offering. This move allowed the firm to use permanent capital from its balance sheet to invest alongside its private equity funds. Over the following years, the firm successfully raised increasingly larger funds, including a $1.3 billion fund in 2007 during a period of high interest in BRIC countries.

Beyond its core private equity operations, the firm has diversified into real estate and infrastructure. It also manages liquid investments and operates through subsidiaries like BRZ Investimentos. The firm maintains a global presence with offices in São Paulo, New York, and Zurich, while being headquartered in Bermuda.
