American Securities

American Securities was originally established in 1947 as a family office by William Rosenwald, the son of the longtime Sears CEO Julius Rosenwald, to manage the family's wealth. In 1994, under the leadership of Michael Fisch and Charles Klein, the firm transitioned from a family office into an institutionally backed private equity firm by launching its inaugural investment fund.

The firm focuses on partnering with U.S. companies that generate annual revenues between $200 million and $2 billion. Over several decades, American Securities has scaled significantly, growing from an initial fund of $71 million in 1993 to managing approximately $26 billion in funds by 2023.

Based in New York with an additional office in Shanghai, the firm primarily targets investments in the industrial and B2B services sectors. It has a history of rebranding, officially changing its name from American Securities Capital Partners to American Securities LLC in 2009.
