American Securities is a U.S.-based private equity firm that partners with market-leading companies, primarily in the industrial and B2B services sectors.

American Securities was founded in 1947 by William Rosenwald to manage his family's wealth, stemming from the fortune of his father, Julius Rosenwald, the longtime CEO of Sears, Roebuck and Co. In its early decades, the firm operated as a family office, managing investments in companies like Ametek and Western Union. The firm underwent a significant evolution starting in 1993 when Michael G. Fisch became the family's financial advisor, subsequently launching the firm's first institutional private equity fund in 1994 alongside Charles Klein.

The firm focuses on partnering with businesses generating between $200 million and $2 billion in annual revenue. Over the decades, it has scaled from a $71 million family investment vehicle into a major institutional player with approximately $26 billion in managed funds. In 2009, the firm transitioned its name from American Securities Capital Partners to American Securities LLC.

Today, American Securities maintains its headquarters in New York City with an additional office in Shanghai. The firm is known for its long-term investment horizon and its specialization in U.S.-based companies within the industrial and business-to-business services sectors. Notable historical activities include the acquisition and divestiture of diverse brands ranging from El Pollo Loco to Potbelly Sandwich Works.
