American Securities

American Securities LLC traces its origins to a family office founded in 1947 by William Rosenwald, whose wealth was derived from Sears, Roebuck and Co. In 1994, under the leadership of Michael G. Fisch, the firm opened its first investment fund to outside investors. The firm renamed itself from American Securities Capital Partners to American Securities LLC in 2009.

The firm typically targets companies with annual revenues between $200 million and $2 billion and EBITDA ranging from $50 million to $250 million. In addition to its primary private equity activities, American Securities operates an affiliate called Ascribe Capital, which focuses on managing capital for debt and equity investments in middle-market companies.

Throughout its history, the firm has been an active investor in diversified industries, including market leaders in the industrial and consumer sectors. As of 2021, the firm had invested in over 67 companies across various sectors, maintaining a significant presence in the North American private equity landscape.
