PAI Partners is a French private equity firm based in Paris and one of the oldest in the sector, tracing its origins to 1872.

PAI Partners traces its origins to Paribas Affaires Industrielles, which was historically the principal investment arm of Paribas starting in 1872. The firm established its first third-party investment vehicle, the PAI LBO Fund, in 1998 and completed a full spin-out from BNP Paribas in 2000. Under the leadership of figures like Amaury de Sèze and Lionel Zinsou, PAI developed a specialized strategy focusing on industrial and consumer sectors.

The firm is known for executing significant leveraged buyout transactions across Europe and North America. In 1997, it led the largest LBO in France at the time by acquiring Danone's pasta and condiment unit. More recently, in 2021, PAI completed its largest investment to date with the $3.3 billion acquisition of Tropicana, Naked, and other juice brands from PepsiCo.

PAI operates with a pan-European and international presence, maintaining teams in major cities including Paris, London, New York, and Madrid. Since 1994, the firm has completed dozens of LBO transactions representing over 48 billion Euros in transaction value. It manages several fund vintages, including dedicated mid-market and large-cap buyout funds.
