L Catterton

Founded in 1989 as Catterton-Simon Partners, the firm was established by J. Michael Chu, Frank Vest, and William E. Simon. In 2016, the firm merged with LVMH and Bernard Arnault's family office, Financière Agache, to form L Catterton. This partnership combined Catterton's North American and Latin American operations with LVMH and Arnault's European and Asian private equity and real estate platforms.

The firm is dedicated exclusively to the consumer industry, having made over 250 investments across various segments. It operates through six distinct fund platforms including Flagship Buyout, North American Growth, Latin America, Europe, Asia, and Real Estate. As of 2024, it is recognized as one of the largest private equity firms globally, ranking 39th in the PEI 300.

Recent notable activity includes raising significant capital for its ninth buyout fund and acquiring stakes in beauty and wellness brands such as Kiko Milano and Stripes Beauty.
