Bruckmann, Rosser, Sherrill & Co. (BRS) was founded in 1995 by Bruce Bruckmann, Harold Rosser, and Stephen Sherrill. The founders previously worked together as executives at Citicorp Venture Capital beginning as early as 1983. Since its inception, the firm has raised approximately $1.4 billion across three investment funds.

The firm specializes in middle-market investments, primarily targeting the consumer products, specialty retail, and restaurant sectors. BRS provides both growth capital and executes leveraged buyouts for its portfolio companies.

Throughout its history, BRS has completed numerous high-profile transactions in the food and dining space, including investments in major chains like California Pizza Kitchen and Au Bon Pain.
