Ridgemont Equity Partners is a private equity firm that completed a spinout from Bank of America in 2010. The firm was previously known as BAML Capital Partners and traces its roots back to the 1993 formation of Bank of America Capital Investors. Between 2009 and 2010, the group served as the private equity and mezzanine investment unit of Bank of America Merrill Lynch following the merger of the two banking giants. Since 1993, the firm and its predecessor entities have invested more than $4.4 billion of equity capital.

The firm focuses on middle-market companies based in the United States, targeting equity investments of up to $250 million. They maintain a diverse sector focus that includes basic industries, energy, healthcare, and TMT (telecommunications, media, and technology). Headquartered in Charlotte, North Carolina, Ridgemont operates as an independent firm following its separation from the investment banking sponsored merchant banking programs that characterized its early history.
