Affinity Equity Partners is one of the pioneer private equity firms in Asia, having commenced its investment activities in 1998. The team was originally established as UBS Capital Asia Pacific, serving as the Asian private equity arm of UBS AG. In 2004, the firm was spun out as an independent entity and is currently owned and operated by its founding partners who have worked together for over two decades.

The firm operates as a Pan-Asian investor, maintaining a presence in major regional hubs including Singapore, Hong Kong, Seoul, Beijing, and Sydney. As of 2023, Affinity is recognized as one of the largest independent private equity firms in the Asia-Pacific region, managing approximately US$14 billion in assets. Its fifth flagship fund, Affinity Asia Pacific Fund V, closed at US$6.0 billion, making it one of the largest funds in the region.

Affinity focuses primarily on control-oriented leveraged buyouts and growth capital investments. Its portfolio is diversified across various sectors and geographies, with a strong emphasis on opportunities in South Korea, Greater China, Australia, New Zealand, and Southeast Asia. Notable historical transactions include the acquisition and subsequent sale of major consumer and industrial brands like Oriental Brewery and Burger King (Japan/Korea).
