Affinity Equity Partners

Affinity Equity Partners is one of the early pioneers in Asian buyouts, having started investment activities in 1998. The team originally operated as UBS Capital Asia Pacific, the private equity arm of UBS AG, before spinning out as an independent firm in 2004. Since its inception, the firm has established itself as one of the largest independent private equity firms in the Asia-Pacific region.

The firm focuses on control-oriented investments and growth capital opportunities. It operates out of several key regional hubs including Singapore, Hong Kong, Seoul, Beijing, and Sydney. As of 2023, Affinity manages approximately US$ 14 billion in assets, including the Affinity Asia Pacific Fund V, which is one of the largest funds in the region.

Affinity has been involved in numerous high-profile transactions across diverse industries, ranging from consumer goods and retail to technology and financial services. Notable historical deals include the acquisition of Oriental Brewery in Korea and Tegel Foods in New Zealand. The firm's partners have a long history of collaboration, with many having worked together since the late 1990s.
