Hamilton Lane

Founded in 1991, Hamilton Lane originally served as a private equity advisory firm for large public pension plans. Over the following decades, the company significantly expanded its offerings to include separately managed accounts, fund of funds, and direct investment management across various asset classes including private credit and real assets. The firm became a public company in March 2017, listing on the Nasdaq.

The company has historically balanced its ownership between outside institutional investors and employees. Significant milestones include the acquisition of Shott Capital Management and Real Asset Portfolio Management, and more recently, a move into blockchain technology by tokenizing funds in partnership with Securitize. Today, it operates 22 offices globally and manages nearly a trillion dollars in assets under management and supervision.
