Dealmaking - PE Hub News and Analysis
Private capital dealmaking updates including EQT's Stockbridge deal, Brynwood's Bob's Big Boy dressings acquisition, ArchiMed's fund deployment, ATL Partners' new aerospace platform, and industry dry powder analysis.
Global private equity activity across October 2026 demonstrates continued consolidation across core sectors, including financial services, healthcare, and industrials. Dealmakers are pursuing strategic carve-outs, platform builds, and exits, even as broader industry data points to elevated levels of undeployed capital across post-2021 fund vintages.
In financial services, exit and consolidation transactions remain prominent. Permira is reportedly considering a $3.5 billion sale of Octus to the London Stock Exchange Group. Meanwhile, EQT agreed to acquire Stockbridge, while shareholder Palliser Capital confirmed its opposition to the €53 per share offer from CVC and GBL for Italy's Recordati.
Healthcare platforms continue to attract substantial capital, with managers actively navigating AI integration into their deployment strategies. Following the final closing of its MED IV small-cap healthcare buyout fund at €1.5 billion—surpassing its €1.2 billion target—ArchiMed is deploying capital as AI reshapes healthcare. Buenavista Equity agreed to acquire a majority stake in Tiryaq Medical, a provider operating two clinics in Madrid and managing trauma units across more than 10 hospitals and private medical centers in Madrid, Barcelona, and Málaga.
Platform-building strategies and add-on acquisitions also progressed across industrial, consumer, and corporate infrastructure markets. ATL Partners launched Precise Aerospace & Defense, completing the platform's inaugural acquisition of Precise Metal Products from Staple Street Capital affiliates. Portfolio company Dastex, backed by Riverside, completed its seventh add-on transaction. Corporate carve-outs also saw movement, with Aurelius targeting Nokia’s Enterprise Campus Edge business, and Brynwood Partners' West Madison acquiring Bob's Big Boy salad dressing maker Flavor of California from Salt Creek. In services, Northrim Horizon acquired installation and repair specialist Cressy Door and Fireplace, while Tigertail expanded its HVAC platform into Wisconsin.
At the same time, managers are assessing internal operational workflows, with Orlando Bravo noting that artificial intelligence is actively reshaping how sponsors conduct investment research.
Together, these transactions signal that general partners are prioritizing specialized add-ons and targeted corporate carve-outs. With private equity funds raised post-2021 holding elevated proportions of dry powder relative to older vintages, firms continue to navigate deployment across specialized platforms.
