Permira and Canada Pension Plan Investment Board have finalized their acquisition of JTC, a global fund administrator, in a transaction valued at £2.7 billion, equivalent to $3.7 billion or €3.2 billion. The deal sees funds advised by Permira partnering with the Canada Pension Plan Investment Board on this investment. This acquisition marks a significant development for JTC, a specialist in Fund Administration, Corporate & Trust Services (FACTS). JTC aims to double the size of the group again under a new "Genesis era" growth strategy. Permira plans to back JTC’s expansion across North America and Europe through both organic growth and acquisitions. JTC operates across Institutional Capital Services and Private Capital Services, catering to private capital and wealth management clients. The company has established a platform for US trust services, complementing its existing European operations. JTC identifies structural demand from private capital and the intergenerational transfer of wealth as key drivers for its long-term growth strategy. Permira has invested approximately €16 billion of equity capital in the wider services sector over four decades, including previous investments in Alter Domus, Tricor, and Kroll. This background underscores Permira's experience in the financial and professional services industries, which aligns with JTC's operational focus.
