Greenbriar strikes deal for AEA Investors’ RF components maker Spectrum Control

CEO Rich Sorelle and existing management will continue to lead the business. Greenbriar plans investment in engineering, product development and manufacturing. The buyer manages more than $15 billion in assets.

An agreement has been reached for Greenbriar Equity Group to acquire Spectrum Control, a manufacturer of engineered radio frequency components and subsystems. The seller in this transaction is AEA Investors. This acquisition marks a significant development for Spectrum Control, which specializes in critical technologies for various high-reliability sectors.

Spectrum Control, established in 1981, focuses on developing RF and microwave technologies. Their products cater to aerospace, defense, space, and commercial applications. The company’s components, modules, and subsystems are designed to protect, condition, and process signals within complex electronic systems, facilitating analog-to-digital communications. These capabilities are crucial in both defense and industrial markets where reliability is paramount.

Following the acquisition by Greenbriar Equity Group, Spectrum Control will continue to be led by its current management team. President and CEO Rich Sorelle will remain at the helm of the company. The continuity in leadership suggests a strategic move to leverage existing expertise and operational stability during the ownership transition.
