Diamond Castle Holdings
MediumFirm Overview
Diamond Castle Holdings is an American private equity firm specializing in leveraged buyout and growth capital investments in middle-market companies.
Founded in 2004, Diamond Castle Holdings was established when Lawrence Schloss, the co-head of DLJ Merchant Banking Partners (DLJMB), led a spinout from Credit Suisse alongside four other senior members of the DLJMB team. Based in New York City, the firm was created to continue the investment legacy of its predecessor team within an independent structure.
The firm focuses on leveraged buyout and growth capital investments, primarily targeting middle-market companies. Its investment activity spans several core sectors, including media, healthcare, financial services, and the power and industrial industries.
In December 2006, the firm successfully closed its first independent fund, Diamond Castle Partners IV, raising $1.85 billion. The fund's name served as a tribute to the three previous funds the team had managed while at DLJ Merchant Banking Partners. As of 2011, the firm maintained approximately $1.9 billion in assets under management.
