The Crossroads Group was a Dallas-based private equity fund of funds firm that specialized in venture capital investments.

Founded in 1981 as Bigler/Crossroads, the firm primarily focused on investing as a limited partner in venture capital funds. Over its 22-year history, it expanded its scope to include middle-market U.S. leveraged buyout investments, mezzanine capital, and secondary interests in existing private equity partnerships.

In 1999, Crossroads significantly expanded its portfolio by acquiring a $340 million collection of direct investments in large to mid-cap companies from Electronic Data Systems (EDS). By the time of its acquisition by Lehman Brothers in 2003, the firm had raised 16 Crossroads Funds and established relationships with more than 200 private equity firms. Following the 2008 bankruptcy of Lehman Brothers, the Crossroads business became part of Neuberger Berman.
